BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)

Race 3 No. 1 HEDGED – ($2.30)

A field of just five contenders are in action in Race 3 and it is HEDGED that should be hard to beat. The Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr-trained galloper was a dominant maiden winner at Seymour two starts ago before rising to Group 3 level and running 4th behind Veight in the McNeil Stakes (1200m). The son of Capitalist led that day before just fading late. He went 8.1 lengths faster than standard benchmark in the McNeil Stakes and should have a class edge on these.

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN)

Race 4 No 1 POISON CHALICE- ($2.20)

POISON CHALICE can just about make it three wins on the trot when he steps out in Race 4. The four-year-old claimed his Maiden at Geelong to kick off his preparation then tackled a BenchMark 64 at Sandown, running on over the 1500m to defeat Galactic Fury. The son of Savabeel rises in weight from that assignment but is on the up and should be ready to peak at the third run of his preparation.

Race 7 No. 12 CAVALLO RAMPANT- ($6.10)

CAVALLO RAMPANTE is worth a bit of thought in Race 7 of the day at Sandown. The Maker/Eustace galloper was a track and trip winner two starts ago before heading to Bendigo and producing an eye-catcher when runner-up behind Fragile Love. She was back and posted four-wide without cover on what was a very slow tempo that day before running on strongly. The 3rd placegetter out of that has since come out and won. A firmer in the early betting, she just needs to find a spot early on from barrier 10 with Ethan Brown to ride.
