BEST BET 🏆   

Race 2 No. 6 UNSEEN RULER- ($5) 

UNSEEN RULER can go close in Race 2 at Caulfield. The four-year-old has had the three runs this time in and caught the eye at Caulfield on March 16 over the 1600m when running on for 7th behind Titan Of Choice, beaten two lengths. He was last before the home turn and was snagged out wide in the straight before producing the fastest last 200m. The son of Mongolian Khan looks as though he is keen for the 2000m and draws much better this time around.

Race 4 No.5 MOESHA – ($6) 

MOESHA can go one spot better than a last start effort that saw her finish runner-up behind Gumdrops at Moonee Valley on March 23. That came over the 1200m and she was forced out very wide as they cornered, while the winner had the saloon passage closer to the inside. Previous form at Caulfield included a 4th behind the flying Estriella as well as another 4th at her last preparation over the 1400m at Group 2 level. A slight firmer in the early betting, the Moody/Coleman galloper draws ideally in barrier 5.

Race 3 No. 9 CALIFORNIA SURREAL- ($16) 

CALIFORNIA SURREAL can be an improver in Race 3. The Team Hayes-trained mare has been tackling some harder races this preparation and they include a 5th at Group 3 level at the track and trip when resuming. She stepped out again over the Caulfield 1200m last time and was 6th behind Waltz On By, going eight lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner. The daughter of I Am Invincible gets the blinkers back on and drops in grade.

Race 9 No. 2 FUTURE HISTORY- ($17) 

The Easter Cup is one of the highlights at Caulfield and I am anticipating improvement from FUTURE HISTORY. The Ciaron Maher-trained galloper comes off an excellent spring and resumed in the Blamey Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on March 2, placing 10th behind Atishu. He was towards the tail and produced the second fastest 400m-200m split before the lack of fitness told in the end. Second up at his last preparation, the son of Showcasing improved eight lengths on benchmark figures when going from a 7th at Sandown over the 1600m to a runner-up at Caulfield over the 2000m. He then went on to claim two of his next three starts. The six-year-old has won four from eight at the distance and finished runner-up in another three.
