Warwick Farm Racing Tips 5 Oct 2026 — can Waller’s army beat the Farm stats?

Chris Waller has stacked Warwick Farm today like it’s a private trial. He rolls out runners in every race on the program and, on volume alone, you can see why the market always gives him respect. Here’s the catch: at this track he’s not the bully people assume. From 152 runners at Warwick Farm he’s landed 10 winners, and that’s the sort of strike rate that turns a lot of short-priced Waller hopes into grinders you want to take on, not take unders about.

That’s the spine of these Warwick Farm racing tips for Monday 5 October 2026: keep the stable brand in its place, lean into runners with upside, and be ruthless about price when the book is built on reputation. We’ve got four races on turf, a stack of progressive types, and a couple of races where the map could decide everything. I’ll walk you race by race, then finish with where I’d actually put money through the window.

Warwick Farm — the setup

Warwick Farm can reward horses that travel and sustain a run. It’s not a place you want to be trapped chasing stop start tempos, especially in these midweek style handicaps where one clever ride can turn the whole race into a sprint home.

We don’t have deep horse course profiles across these fields. Most of today’s runners have one or two Warwick Farm runs, so treat track figures as a reference, not a religion.

Jockeys worth respecting here (meaningful sample sizes, 5 plus rides):

Jockey Runs Wins Places Win% Place%
Tim Clark 56 11 24 19.64 42.86
A Hyeronimus 27 5 17 18.52 62.96
N Rawiller 37 7 18 18.92 48.65
Tommy Berry 66 11 28 16.67 42.42
Zac Lloyd 57 7 35 12.28 61.40

Stables with proper Warwick Farm volume (5 plus runners):

Trainer Runs Wins Places Win% Place%
G Waterhouse & A Bott 67 18 41 26.87 61.19
C J Waller 152 10 53 6.58 34.87

Race-by-race: Warwick Farm predictions

Race 1: Racing And Sports Mdn Hcp — 13:25, 1750m

The contender I keep landing on is Koibito. Waterhouse and Bott don’t usually muck around in these maidens when they’ve got one that keeps knocking, and the form line 422-2 screams “ready” without screaming “unders”. He’s got the kind of profile that can absorb a bit of early work if the race turns messy, and Regan Bayliss sticks, which matters when you’re trying to time a win at this trip.

The other angle in here is Waller’s numbers at the Farm: huge volume, but not a high conversion rate. That’s why I’m cautious about piling into the Waller brigade just because they’re Waller. You can make a case for True Tone (drawn 1, Berry aboard, and consistent with 442) to get every favour from the inside, and he’s the one that can pinch it if the speed backs off mid-race and it becomes a sit-sprint.

Made In Italy looks the classic “always there” type on 2-32332, and if you’re playing wider exotics, he’s hard to leave out, even from a wider alley.

Staking: Win bet Koibito. Save on True Tone if you want cover for the inside-runner scenario.

Race 2: Jacquinot First Crop 2yos (Bm68) — 14:00, 1203m

This is a market problem race because punters love the “last start winner” in these early-season sprints, but the best bet might be the horse who’s already shown he travels to this track and turns up. Crescent King has been to Warwick Farm twice and placed in both visits. That’s not a trend you hang your life on, but it does tell you he handles the place and he turns up.

He also comes here off a 421 profile and Zac Lloyd is one of the riders I want onside at this venue: he lands in the money here a lot, and he’s aggressive enough to hold a spot without burning the horse. If Crescent King lands in the first four and gets a cart into it, he’s the one I want to be with.

The danger is Not On My Watch. Joseph Pride has a solid record at Warwick Farm on volume (36 runners, five winners, 16 placings), and this horse’s 21 form says he’s already got the will to win. Barrier 10 is the question, because it can force Schofield into a decision early: snag right back or press on and risk doing too much.

Portico is the other one I can see running a big race if the tempo is genuinely solid. Tim Clark is a proper Warwick Farm rider and if he gets cover from gate 7, he can launch at the right time.

Staking: Win bet Crescent King. Small quinella with Not On My Watch if you want to keep the main danger sweet.

Race 3: E Security Group (Bm72) — 14:35, 2308m

The shape of this stays race matters more than the names. Over 2308m at the Farm, the race often gets decided by who controls the middle stages. Farraige looks the horse most likely to get a soft, economical run from barrier 2, and his current string 014222 reads like a stayer who’s found his level and keeps putting himself in the finish.

He’s also the one we can trust on recent body of work: in his last 90 days he’s had 8 runs for 1 win and 6 placings, which is serious consistency for this grade. If they dawdle early, that consistency becomes a weapon, because he’ll be in the right spot when others are climbing over each other.

The obvious threat is Fantazy Man. Waterhouse and Bott absolutely do damage at this course on volume, and Hyeronimus is another rider who rides Warwick Farm like he’s got a map in his pocket. The niggle is the pattern: 6110-8 reads like a horse who might be between preps, and he carries the top weight. If he’s back to his best, he can just outclass them. If he isn’t, he’s vulnerable late.

Staking: Win bet Farraige. If you want a saver, keep it small on Fantazy Man and hope class beats condition.

Race 4: Drinkwise Mile (Bm72) — 15:10, 1750m

The stable move I’m buying is Erina turning up here in form and ready to strike again. The raw form line 7-6113 says she’s holding her level, and the recent record backs it up: in the last 90 days she’s had 4 starts for 2 wins and 3 placings. That’s the sort of profile you can bet on without needing perfect conditions.

The map is the key. From gate 7 she probably doesn’t get the cheap lead, but she should land close enough that Mollie Fitzgerald can build her into the race. Fitzgerald’s Warwick Farm record is strong enough to trust (21 rides, four winners, 11 placings), and she rides with the sort of quiet confidence that suits a horse who keeps finding.

The danger is Just In Time. Rawiller is a weapon here and the horse has the class edge on paper, but he concedes weight to a few that are trending up. If Rawiller controls the race from the 800m, he can make weight look irrelevant. If he gets dragged into a mid-race fight, the closers can swamp him late.

Storm Season is the sneaky each-way type if you’re shopping for a run-on horse that keeps putting itself in the finish. He’s placed in both Warwick Farm runs, and that’s enough to respect the track fit without pretending it’s destiny.

Staking: Win bet Erina. If the market hands you a price on Storm Season, he’s the saver for the “fast last 600” scenario.

The plays

If you’re playing this card like a mate and not like a robot, you keep it simple and you pick your moments. My main push is Erina in the 15:10. The 90-day record is the standout on the whole meeting, and she doesn’t need the race to fall apart to win. That’s the bet I want to have on before we even see how the track is playing.

The value lane sits with Farraige in the staying race. He keeps putting himself there, and from gate 2 he gets first crack at the right run if they control the tempo. For multis, the banker is Crescent King</strong. He’s already proven he handles Warwick Farm with two placings here, and he draws to get every chance again.

The course angle I’m carrying forward is this: people still bet Waller at Warwick Farm like he wins at Waller rates, but at this specific track he hasn’t been converting. When the market leans too hard on the brand, you’re allowed to lean back.

Keep an eye on how Zac Lloyd rides the 1200m here. If he’s positive early and holds a lane, it’s an angle that can pay again next time he pops up at the Farm.

FAQ

What time does racing start at Warwick Farm today?

Racing kicks off at 13:25 with the Racing And Sports Maiden Handicap over 1750m.

Who are the top trainers and jockeys at Warwick Farm?

On meaningful Warwick Farm samples, G Waterhouse & A Bott stand out: 18 wins from 67 runners at the track. For jockeys, Tim Clark leads the card on volume with 11 wins from 56 rides, while A Hyeronimus has been ultra reliable for placing with 17 placings from 27 rides.

What are the best bets at Warwick Farm today?

My best bet is Erina in Race 4 (15:10, 1750m). She comes in off 7-6113 and has gone 4 runs for 2 wins and 3 placings in the last 90 days. The other bet I want on the day is Farraige in Race 3 (14:35, 2308m) off that consistent 014222 form line and a soft draw.

Where can I find the best odds for Warwick Farm races?

Odds move quickly on these types of meetings, so compare prices across bookmakers as close to jump time as you can. We didn’t have a live odds feed available for this meeting at publish time, but you can still line-shop through your preferred books and keep an eye on late firming runners and drift patterns.

Why are you taking on some of the Waller runners today?

It’s not anti-Waller, it’s price discipline. Waller has massive Warwick Farm volume, but his strike rate here sits at 10 wins from 152 runners. That means plenty of his runners run well without winning, which is exactly how short-priced favourites get you in trouble.
