Eagle Farm Racing Tips 28 Oct 2026: Prochester Again?

Overview

Prochester has won two of his three starts in the last 90 days and finished in the first three in all of them, and he already has a win at Eagle Farm. He gets his chance in the Xxxx Gold Hcp over 1840m, the race most likely to decide this Wednesday card.

There are seven races on a track rated Heavy, starting at 1:43PM with a BM70 sprint and closing with a Class 1 over 1400m at 5:15PM. Three of the seven are maidens, and the quaddie runs from Race 4 to Race 7. These Eagle Farm racing tips go race by race, with live prices where a market was up when this was written. Only the first two races had full markets, so the back half is judged on form and connections rather than numbers. One partnership to follow all afternoon: Ben Thompson riding for Tony Gollan, who have won 15 of their 50 races together at this track.

Eagle Farm: the setup

A Heavy track in Brisbane asks a different question to a dry one. Horses that have shown they can keep finding in a staying finish deserve the extra credit, and some of the lighter sprinters will struggle to carry their speed to the line. Course form among the horses is thin. Barcelo is the only runner with five starts here, and most of the fields have one or two runs at the track at best.

Horse Runs Wins Places Win% Place%
Prochester 3 1 2 33.3 66.7
Barcelo 5 1 2 20.0 40.0
Diamond Epic 3 1 1 33.3 33.3
Techna 3 1 1 33.3 33.3
Boss Mode 3 0 1 0.0 33.3
Sir Beveridge 4 0 1 0.0 25.0

The riders give us more to work with. Ben Thompson is the man to beat here, with 41 winners from 197 rides, and he rides in every race today.

Jockey Runs Wins Places Win% Place%
Ben Thompson 197 41 92 20.8 46.7
Kyle Wilson-Taylor 39 4 18 10.3 46.2
Ryan Maloney 109 14 50 12.8 45.9

Tahlia Fenlon 43 5 18 11.6 41.9
Jace McMurray 109 13 44 11.9 40.4

Tony Gollan has the numbers among the trainers, with 345 runners here and 11 more on today’s card.

Jack Bruce 67 10 32 14.9 47.8
T J Gollan 345 54 161 15.7 46.7

Eagle Farm predictions, race by race

Race 1: Gallopers Sports Club (Bm70), 1:43PM, 1000m

Flaressence has done nothing wrong. Four runs in the last 90 days have produced a win and three placings, and she has finished in the first three on both of her visits to Eagle Farm. She also carries the lightest weight in the race, which counts for plenty on a Heavy track over a short trip, and barrier 2 gives Taylor Marshall the choice of running.

The market agrees, with $2.60 the best price at Bet Right. That is short, but the profile is the most reliable on the card. The danger is Boss Mode for the Gollan stable. He won one of his two starts in the last 90 days and placed in the other, and Cejay Graham can roll forward from gate 4. At $4.40 he is the one to save on. Sweet Hesitation and Vanzadee are scratched.

Win bet on Flaressence, and use her as a multi leg.

Race 2: Become A Brc Member Mdn Plate, 2:18PM, 1200m

The Ben Thompson and Tony Gollan combination at Eagle Farm reads 15 wins and 33 placings from 50 rides together, and they team up here with Stellagracia. She ran second on her only start, so there is not much to go on, but the booking says the stable expects her to step forward. $4.00 at Bet Right is fair for an improving maiden with the best rider in town.

Buttercup at $4.20 is the obvious danger. Her form line of 3-22232 tells you she keeps running into one, and she placed on her only start here. Michael Rodd will have her handy. Further down the market sits Aristocratic Girl, who has placed in both of her Eagle Farm starts and has a run of seconds and thirds in her form. At $9.50 with Bet Right she is the each-way price of the early races.

Stellagracia to win, Aristocratic Girl each-way.

Race 3: Ladbrokes Spring Racing Carnival Mdn Plate, 2:53PM, 1200m

Who wins a maiden where four have already come out and no market was open? Budda Bar makes the most appeal. He has run second and fourth from his two starts, and the second of those came here, so he has handled the track. D Moor rides for Gollan from barrier 6.

No Wallet Reg is the consistent one. He has placed in three of his four starts in the last 90 days, and Kyle Wilson-Taylor places on close to half his Eagle Farm rides. The worry is that he keeps finding one better. Tramca has a placing from two runs in the window and is the other to consider. Flashing Star, Logan Downs, Baltusrol and Equinox King are scratched.

Small win bet on Budda Bar, with No Wallet Reg the saver for the place.

Race 4: Drinkwise Mdn Plate, 3:28PM, 1400m

Hard to have a confident view in the first leg of the quaddie. Nation has the form line that is heading the right way, 6-5-4-3, and picked up a placing from three runs in the last 90 days. D Peisley gets the run from barrier 2. If forced, that is the one.

Mystical is the danger. Todd Pollard has won with seven of his 26 runners at Eagle Farm, and Ben Thompson takes the ride. Ready Set Tergo, fourth and fifth in two starts for Gollan, rounds out the short list. There was no market up when this was written.

Watch race. In the quaddie, take Nation, Mystical and Ready Set Tergo.

Race 5: Xxxx Gold Hcp (C4), 4:03PM, 1840m

Prochester is the horse of the day. He has won two of his three starts in the last 90 days and has finished in the first three every time. His form reads 444311, with the last two runs his best, and he has won at Eagle Farm before, with two placings from three starts here.

The connections help. Taylor Marshall rides for Jack Bruce, and that pairing has won two and placed in seven of their ten rides together at this track. Bruce himself places with almost half his Eagle Farm runners. Prochester shares top weight with Mirra Impact, and on a Heavy track over 1840m that is the main question mark. A horse in this form has earned the weight, and the trip should let Marshall settle him from barrier 6 and wait.

The danger is Weekend Artist from barrier 1. He has won two of his five starts in the last 90 days and placed in four, and he carries a lot less weight. Tahlia Fenlon should have the box seat from there. Barcelo is the only runner on the card with five starts at Eagle Farm, for a win and two placings, and Ryan Maloney rides for Chris Waller. Super Fair, with a win and three placings from five runs in the window, is the next best.

Entrusting, Meltdown and Data Leak are scratched. Win bet on Prochester, and anchor the quaddie on him.

Race 6: Sky Racing (Bm72), 4:38PM, 1300m

Can Flying Bat finally get his head in front? Six runs in the last 90 days have produced five placings without a win, and he placed on his only Eagle Farm start. He is the honest type that suits a slog, and he gets in light compared with most of the field. Mckenzie Apel rides from barrier 8.

Aldolfito has placed in all three of his runs in the window, but barrier 16 in a big field on a Heavy track is a long way out. Oakfield Duke won once and placed twice from four runs in the last 90 days, and Ryan Maloney has 50 placings from his 109 Eagle Farm rides. Punjabi Landing has won one of his two starts here and could lead them a long way.

Hopper is scratched. Each-way on Flying Bat. In the quaddie, add Aldolfito and Oakfield Duke.

Race 7: More From Tote With Ladbrokes Plate (C1), 5:15PM, 1400m

Jack Bruce sends three to the last, and the one Ben Thompson chose is Storming Home. He won his only start at Eagle Farm, which is his most recent run, and Thompson has three wins and seven placings from 14 rides for Bruce here. It is a light record, but it points the same way, and he looks the stable elect over Monotone and Switz.

Imminent Appeal is the threat. His three runs in the last 90 days produced a win and two other placings, and he placed on his only visit here. Chris Anderson hits the frame with half his Eagle Farm runners. Victoria, a winner and a placegetter from two runs in the window, is the other to respect.

Mission Of Joy, Amourette and Whiskey And Rose are scratched. Win bet on Storming Home, saver on Imminent Appeal.

Where the money goes

NAP: Prochester (Race 5, 4:03PM). Two wins from his last three, a winner here already, and a rider and trainer who place together seven times in ten at the track. The weight is the only knock.

Value: Aristocratic Girl (Race 2, 2:18PM). Two Eagle Farm starts for two placings, and the market lets her go at $9.50 with Bet Right.

Banker: Flaressence (Race 1, 1:43PM). In the first three on all four runs in the last 90 days and the lightest weight in the race. She is the safest multi leg on the card at $2.60 with Bet Right.

Each-way: Flying Bat (Race 6, 4:38PM). Five placings from six runs in the window. He keeps turning up, and that is what an each-way bet needs.

Course angle: Ben Thompson riding for Tony Gollan, 15 wins from 50 at this track. Stellagracia in Race 2 and Exceed Speed in Race 6 are today’s pair.

With Storming Home and Prochester both running for Jack Bruce, Wednesday could show how strong his Eagle Farm team is heading into the summer.
