Thousand Guineas Final Field & Barrier Draw

Thousand Guineas Barrier Draw

A field of 14 fillies has been declared for Saturday’s Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield following the barrier draw on Tuesday morning.

Phillip Stokes’ unbeaten Not A Single Doubt filly, Instant Celebrity, has drawn wide in barrier nine and will be looking to make it five from five.

Craig Williams retains the ride having jumped aboard in Thousand Guineas Prelude (1400m) where Instant Celebrity finished best from the rear to defeat Personal by a length.

Chris Waller’s Hungry Heart has drawn ideally in gate 3 and has been runner-up in all three runs this campaign including the Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) at Randwick last Saturday.

The James Cummings-prepared Thermosphere is also on the one-week back up having taken out the Edward Manifold Stakes (1600m) at Flemington last Saturday.

The Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr-trained Odeum joins Instant Celebrity and Thermosphere as the only last start winners in the Thousand Guineas.

Odeum defeated Aidensfield and Mozzie Monster in the Jim Moloney Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on September 19.
