A final field of 10 has been declared for Saturday’s Group 1 Underwood Stakes (1800m) at Caulfield after the barrier draw was completed on Wednesday morning.

The Danny O’Brien-trained four-year-old entire Russian Camelot has drawn barrier nine for the Underwood Stakes. A winner of three from six, Russian Camelot stamped his authority on future staying races when capturing the Group 1 South Australian Derby (2500m) at Morphettville. Jockey Damien Oliver takes the ride once again after the pair were narrowly beaten in the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) won by Fierce Impact.

Arcadia Queen has drawn the inside barrier with jockey William Pike to ride. Prepared by Grant and Alana Williams, the five-year-old mare has won six of her 11 starts and looks to get into the winner’s circle once again after running second in the Group 2 Let’s Elope Stakes (1400m) at her most recent start. The step up to 1800m is ideal as the five-year-old won the 2018 Group 1 Kingston Town Classic (1800m).

Mr Quickie finished second in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) won by Behemoth who has since won the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m). Trained by Phillip Stokes, Mr Quickie won the Group 1 Queensland Derby (2400m) last year beating eventual Melbourne Cup (3200m) champion Vow And Declare. Mr Quickie has gate 10 with Damian Lane in the saddle.
