The 2024 Winx Stakes nominations will be revealed at 11:00am on Monday, August 19, 2024.

Held at Royal Randwick Racecourse, the Winx Stakes is a 1400m weight for age feature named after champion mare Winx.

Trained by Chris Waller and a 25-time Group 1 winner, Winx captured the race which is registered as the Warwick Stakes on three occasions.

Winx Stakes Barrier Draw – When, Where And How Is It Conducted?

The final field and barrier draw for the 2024 Winx Stakes will be known shortly after 9:00am on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.

Each runner is randomly allocated a barrier with the process completed in less than a second by clicking a computer mouse.

The Winx Stakes is the first Group 1 race of the spring and will attract a quality field of milers as well as some middle-distance/staying types heading to the bigger races later in the spring.

Being the first Group 1 race of the spring, the Winx Stakes can often attract a smaller-to-medium sized field. Barrier two followed by four has had the most success since 2000.
