BEST BET 🏆
Race 8 No. 3 ALMIGHTY CLASS – ($4.40)
Jarrad Noske could not hold ALMIGHTY CLASS any slower with the horse fighting for his while fresh in a recent barrier trial at Belmont. He unleashed a powerful burst under little encouragement to score by four lengths in that trial with a sign of things to come. Relished the fast tempo set by Krysanova when settling in an off-pace position first-up over 1000 metres here. Noske unleashed the shackles into the straight with Almighty Class going on for a dominant win. Should find a handy spot in running and it’s all systems go for Almighty Class who should relish getting out to 1200m on Saturday.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 1 No. 1 CAPRICORN MAN – ($4)
Madi Derrick will have a target on her back as she attempts to spear last-start winner CAPRICORN MAN out of the gates in the opener at Ascot Racecourse on Saturday. She found the front with relative ease as Capricorn Man showed his customary pace over 1100m here first-up. The big striding gelding showed too much early toe for On The Full who has again drawn inside him. Derrick slipped Capricorn Man more leather on straightening with her mount quickening off his already fast tempo to go on and score. The pair is also likely to have Swear To God serving it up to them early. Capricorn Man gets out to 1200m second-up and we’ll back his early speed to negate that pressure which is expected to come in the first few furlongs.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 4 No. 6 SKETTA – ($15)
Winning form has followed SKETTA who has now had five runs this preparation. The mare didn’t finish far off both Ponyo and Stylax first and second-up in races that continue to produce winners. The latter ran a big race from off the pace behind stablemate Bandalera Miss on Saturday. Sketta then won third-up at Northam, beating subsequent winner Miss Intention. Trainer Fred Kersley kept his mare to the mile where Sketta was beaten less than two lengths to Amber Glide who also came out and won again on Saturday. Brandon Louis took Sketta back to the tail from their wide draw at her fourth consecutive run over 1600m. The field just walked in front with the highly fancied 3yo Cosmic Crusader gaining the run of the race to score. Louis only found clear running by the furlong with Sketta running through the line with a last 600m to match the BM86 won by Pompey over 1400m.
