BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)  

Race 1 No. 3 MIRRORING  – ($2.50)

We open up with a Maiden over the 1600m and MIRRORING can chalk up the first win of his career. The four-year-old has had the four career starts with two of those coming at his current preparation. Last time out, he stepped out on the Pakenham Synthetic and stuck on well for 3rd behind Russian Meteor, going 2.1 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is six lengths better than the next best last start figures of any runner. He has performed well on the Turf previously and looks ready to pounce at his third run back. 

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN) 

Race 3 No 7 SEGMENT- ($3.45)

This might be the one for the 11-start Maiden, SEGMENT. The four-year-old has been close up on the Pakenham Synthetic at his past two starts and was 4th over the 1100m when resuming two starts ago, beaten just under a length, before sticking on for 3rd at his latest. Third up at his last preparation, the Reece Goodwin-trained galloper improved 11 lengths on benchmark figures to place 3rd at Sandown. Jake Noonan rides and is three from six for the stable, providing a 118% profit on turnover for punters. 

NEXT BEST 🥈 

Race 5 No. 6 MISS VAUGHN – ($4.55)

We stretch out over the 2200m in Race 5 and MISS VAUGHN looks to be one that should appreciate the trip. The lightly raced five-year-old was close up at Sale over the 1717m when resuming in this grade on July 7 before tackling a BenchMark 70 at Morphettville and running 4th behind Orbital Express. She just peaked on her run late in the piece over the 2009m. The daughter of Rebel Raider comes into this third up and at her last preparation, she improved four lengths on benchmark figures when going from a Kilmore Maiden win to a 4th behind Irish Butterfly at Bendigo in a BM64. She draws perfectly in barrier 2 for this assignment and is another for Jake Noonan, who strikes at 21% for the stable, providing a 37% profit on turnover for punters.
