LUDOVISI should be hard to beat in Race 4 of the day at Benalla. The Leon & Troy Corstens-trained galloper has had two runs this time in for a runner-up when resuming at Geelong over the 1347m on August 25 before stepping up to the 1726m and running 4th behind New York Hurricane. He was snagged back from the barrier that day and was held up as they rounded before running on. Third up last time, the four-year-old was a big improver on benchmark figures when scoring at the track and trip. The blinkers go back on and Billy Egan will look to navigate a passage from barrier 1.

Race 5 No 2 LOOK SHARPISH- ($6.90)

LOOK SHARPISH can go a couple of spots better than a last start effort that saw her finish 3rd at Morphettville over the 2051m on September 16. Another from the Corstens camp, the seven-year-old gets to a firmer surface and settled handy last time before just going down late. That came in a BenchMark 80 and she drops down to this level. The daughter of Pins went 5.6 lengths faster than standard last time which is more than five lengths better than the next best last start figure of any runner. She is one from one at the track and trip.
