Bendigo Tips 08/10/2023

BEST BET 🏆

Race 4 No. 1 DELIVERING- ($1.95)

This looks to be a suitable assignment for DELIVERING. The Maher/Eustace galloper has had the four career starts and has bumped into some handy types that have gone on to bigger and better things. The son of Justify has had three starts this time in and last stepped out at Sandown on September 13. He was held up at the top of the straight before running 4th behind Prinzerro, beaten three lengths, while he was placed in two runs behind Autumn Angel prior to that. This looks a bit easier and the stable have opted for the blinkers for the first time.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 3 No. 10 BLUE CHIP GIRL- ($2.60)

BLUE CHIP GIRL can go close to breaking the maiden in Race 3. The four-year-old has placed in three of five career starts and resumed at Morphettville on September 16, finishing 5th over the 1100m behind Royal Handed. They went very slow early on in that race and she just lacked the dash at the business end. The Matt Laurie-trained galloper was an improver at her initial preparation and just missed at Geelong before running 3rd over the 1300m here in April. Improvement to come second up and with Beau Mertens in the saddle, the four-year-old can take this one out.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 9 No. 2 IS IT ME- ($3.65)

IS IT ME can kick off his campaign with a win. The four-year-old has won two of five and performs well when fresh with win and a runner-up from two runs. At his last campaign, the four-year-old stepped out at Flemington back in March over the 1400m and was a desperately unlucky when runner-up behind Meridius. He then has excuses in the Bendigo Guineas (1600m) before finishing runner-up in a BenchMark 70 at Terang. The Daniel Bowman-trained galloper carries weight for this but draws well and does look to have a bit of a class edge on his rivals.
