Race 6:  No.7  GALBALAN  ($4.80 with Neds)

Local galloper GALBALAN drops in grade here and looks set to bounce back today. Last start, the Artie Schiller gelding was riding high on a successful campaign when he finished unplaced in a Class 2 Hcp, here over the 1000m sprint. He drew the car park that day (gate 14) and never got on the track, caught wide the entire trip. He had nothing left on the run home and weakened out of it. Forgetting that run, he has strung together five podium finishes this time in, including two victories, and draws far better here in gate four where he maps to settle just behind the speed. Fiona Sandkuhl returns for this assignment and has tasted victory with him previously. Already a winner at the track, he looks the one to beat today.

Race 7:  No.4  TEETOTAL  ($5 with Picklebet)

The David O’Prey-trained TEETOTAL is three starts into this campaign and improving with each start, looks a winning chance today. Last start, the Kuroshio gelding stepped-up in grade where he took on a Class 2 field and did well to beat all but one home in the 1175m contest. In a three-horse battle to the line, he fought on strongly to take home the silver medal, beaten a nose on the line. He drops back in grade again as he meets BM58 company today with Logan McNeil sticking with him after that last start effort. Fourth-up here, he should be at his peak now and a trouble-free run today sees him right in the mix.

Race 5:  No.4  STAR BUYER  ($6.50 with Ladbrokes)

Corowa-based galloper STAR BUYER is third-up today and looks well placed here for further improvement. Last start, the Written Tycoon gelding was unwanted in the market ($14) when he turned heads with a big finish to grab second prize in a Class 2 Hcp over 1400m at Wagga. He ran that out, 7 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best last-start effort here. Josh Richards is in the saddle today for his first ride on the four-year-old who draws gate seven and maps to settle near mid-field. Fitter for two runs back, he has claims here to take home the major prize in this contest.
