Ascot Tips 1/11/2022

BEST BET 🏆

Race 2 No. 2 JUST A RUMOUR – ($4)

The market was very warm towards JUST A RUMOUR when he was resuming off the back off a trial win at Belmont. Did enough under Clint Johnston-Porter that day when he followed through on the rail into the straight. He struck a fairly handy maiden field with the quinella horses clearing out from the rest. Continued on doggedly to fill a minor placing, convincing the market to keep him safe next start. Gets the blinkers on while stripping fitter for his third run back. They just walked in front last start when he failed to show any zip into the straight. He was just okay to the line and those blinkers may help to sharpen Just A Rumour up a bit.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 4 No. 1 MARKET STRYKE – ($2.40)

Liked the return of MARKET STRYKE at in a good one metro winner event which rated as a BM72 from the top weight. They didn’t go along overly hard with Holly Watson giving her mount the gun-run behind the leader. Just became boxed in for a run halfway up the straight as those out wider came with momentum. Market Stryke was okay to the line once clear and will have taken little harm from the run. That effort impressed enough to write his name into the #WABlackbookers and should be hard to beat here second-up.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6 No. 3 WINNING ACES – ($21)

Jim Taylor throws the keys of WINNING ACES to Keshaw Dhurun who has been mixing his form this prep. Landed a good win over this track and trip back in March of this year when settling last off the hot tempo set by Born To Run and Lexington City. Caught the eye again second-up this time in when flashing home late for second over 1000 metres at Belmont. Winning Aces was only fair at his next two starts before an improved showing behind Gerald over the 1200 metres last time. Comes back to the 1100 metres in a race where there should be some tempo up top. Dhurun’s claim helps bring Winning Aces right in with a winning chance and we’ll look them late.
