BEST BET 🏆
Race 3 No. 7 AUTUMN REBEL – ($5.75)
Heads and heads down with the judge splitting a photo which showed AUTUMN REBEL on the wrong side of the picture. Clint Johnson-Porter had allowed his mount to find his feet off some good tempo up front. Just became held-up momentarily under the winner Pleasure Cruise nearing the furlong. That was enough to cost Autumn Rebel a first-up win in a race that we believe will prove to be a strong form reference. Stays to 1400 metres second-up and has drawn to put himself into the frame again.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4 No. 8 VALOUR ROAD – ($4.60)
Chris Parnham will be attempting to give VALOUR ROAD a similar run in transit that he was able to afford the horse when racing first-up last start. Parnham found a good spot following the speed from an ideal draw in the Listed IDYLLIC PRINCE over 1300 metres. Brad Parnham was able to control the speed through the first couple of furlongs before increasing to a fast tempo on Phanta. Valour Road knuckled down to task into the straight as Phanta tried to slip away. Valour Road and Nerodio both came with their runs together as the former gained the ascendancy nearing the shadows. Simon Miller has allowed Valour Road a good gap between runs and the horse should be hard to beat in the EURYTHMIC on Saturday.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 5 No. 9 LAQUETTA’S GIFT – ($7)
They walked out in front at Belmont Racecourse with LAQUETTA’S GIFT settling by the tail when racing second-up. She came through a good form race first-up behind Jelly Can Run at Pinjarra where she ran an eye-catching second. Dion Luciani has his mare up and about with Laquetta’s Gift again getting home when the race was all but over. This one metro winner event rated as a benchmark 67 race which is close to Saturday’s rating. We’ll forgive her last run when getting a long way back before again running on when it was all over. Certainly wish there was more pace in this race too. Has drawn better and we’ll look for William Pike to maybe settle a touch closer on Laquetta’s Gift.
