BEST BET 🏆

Race 6 No. 5 MAGIC DELTA – ($5)

Morphettville trainer Paula Trenwith prepared MAGIC DELTA to land the cash over this track and distance only a few starts ago. Nichola Yuen was able to control the early race tempo when she sent the mare straight to the front. The win capped off a string of placings for Magic Delta who dug deep to fend off the challenge from Bromelia in a two-horse war up the straight. Can improve on her last when Magic Delta was forced to track wide without cover while racing up on the speed. She was four-weeks between runs going into that race in town and will find this to be an easier assignment.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5 No. 4 CHARTIN – ($3.65)

CHARTIN surprised with an honest effort when finding Whatsanamegeorge too good on Melbourne Cup Day at Morphettville. We’ve often felt that Chartin races best with some sting out of the ground. Jade Doyle was able to lead as she liked on the horse with Whatsanamegeorge in close attendance. Doyle managed to give her rival the slip on straightening with Chartin fighting tooth and nail while racing on top of the ground. The hot-pot favourite was too good for them in the end with Chartin going down by less than a length. They left a good gap back to the third horse and a repeat of that performance would see Chartin being very competitive in this.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 7 No. 6 LOOKS LIKE A LADY – ($8.50)

The Brian Holtham trained LOOKS LIKE A LADY landed the plunge when racing up on the speed at Port Lincoln recently. She put paid to the early leader into the straight before holding off the fast-finishing Nasdana. She lost the rider at her next start as the gates opened, ensuring the house collected all bets on her. Looks Like A Lady carried a bit of weight during her latest effort. She was forced to race wide without cover the entire and was probably entitled to drop out into the straight. The mare stuck to task okay with Logan becoming unbalanced as the saddle began to shift.
