Balaklava Tips 22/11/2023

BEST BET 🏆

Race 4 No. 1 FLEURIEU FLIPPER – ($3.30)

FLEURIEU FLIPPER to the scene of his recent demolition job of a similar field. Fleurieu Flipper wasn’t the best to begin with Sam Payne opting to find some cover from an off-pace position. Fleurieu Flipper lumped the 61kg to rattled down the middle part of the track and came away for a big win over this track and trip. That race has since produced the winners of another four races while Fleurieu Flipper has been kept ticking over with another two runs since. There does not appear to be a great deal of pressure in this. Fleurieu Flipper does have the ability to race a little more forward and is drawn ideally for Sam Payne to put himself into the race early.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 2 No. 7 NEVER SURRENDER – ($5.75)

Jason Holder had NEVER SURRENDER travelling strongly underneath him in a recent trial as trainer Andrew Gluyas prepared his horse for return. Holder allowed his horse to slide up to the leader Care Too Much into the straight. There wasn’t much there with Never Surrender once Holder let him go and he would’ve found some improvement going into his first-up run. Never Surrender showed pace to sit under the speed while still again racing strongly under Jason Holder. The pair ranged up to the leaders into the straight only to have the winner Great Maximus race straight past them. Never Surrender clearly peaked on his run approaching the 100m and yet out-boxed the rest to run second.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5 No. 4 EASTSIDE DIAMOND – ($6.50)

Morphettville trainer Scott Westover might hold the key to any upside in this race with EASTSIDE DIAMOND. Confident the right formline comes from the race behind Old Time Rock at Morphettville on Cup Day. Old Time Rock took advantage of the lack of pressure in front to open a winning break into the straight. Eastside Diamond continued to chase into third after following the speed throughout. Will strip fitter from that first-up run and should be prominent once again.
