BEST BET 🏆

Race 4 No. 7 MISS ELLAROSE – ($8.60)

Ryan Hurdle will have some decisions to make early in the race as he replaces Sairyn Fawke aboard MISS ELLAROSE. She returned from a spell to finish third at Murray Bridge last start in a race that rated strongly. She rolled somewhere forward and was never a match for the winner Left Turn Clyde. They did run along in that and Miss Ellarose also ran her last 600m/400m in a sharp time to class. Miss Ellarose has drawn a low-percentage gate at Balaklava Racecourse on Wednesday. We believe that Miss Ellarose may be able to push forward quickly enough to lead with the only other real pace coming from her outside. Miss Ellarose rattled off good enough late sectionals last time to suggest she’ll be hard to get past off a good early run here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 2 No. 1 EXILED LOVE – ($3)

Todd Pannell replaces Lachie Neindorf in the saddle of EXILED LOVE for David Jolly at Balaklava Racecourse on Wednesday. The gelding found some late market support on debut after opening double figures early. Jumped well for Neindorf before drifting back towards midfield the fence. Exiled Love relaxed well enough in the run and perhaps found an awkward position as the pace slackened. Picked up well between horses into the straight with an eye-catching run behind the placegetters. Exiled Love can improve out to the trip second-up from a good draw with the good early pressure happening in front.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5 No. 2 MAGIC PHANTOM – ($7.50)

We’ll roll the dice on Balaklava track specialist MAGIC PHANTOM who showed improvement at Gawler last start. Magic Phantom was just okay in being much the same throughout in a harder race over 1200 metres on the Heavy track. Not sure what happened the start prior when finishing down the track at Murray Bridge. Britney Wong gets a long very with him with the pair stringing three wins together last prep. Those wins were against opposition that was stronger than he meets here. Wong can give Magic Phantom the run of the race early, and he does handle all track conditions.
