BEST BET 🏆
Race 7 No. 6 OCEANA BLUE- ($2.30)
This looks to be a suitable assignment for OCEANA BLUE to kick off her campaign. The Peter Moody-trained mare showed promise at her last preparation when running some solid races in town, while she was placed when resuming at Sandown over the 1400m in a BenchMark 64. She was a strong winner in her only other first up run. The daughter of Ocean Park closed out with a 4th at Flemington over the 1700m behind Thalassophile, going a healthy 9 lengths faster than standard benchmark. Tempo looks even enough here and expect her to launch at them late with Luke Nolen on board.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 6 No. 9 TARZI CALLING- ($2.45)
TARZI CALLING can go close at his first run back from a spell. The four-year-old has had three career starts and was a strong winner when resuming in the autumn at Benalla over the 1206m, defeating Chart Buster by two lengths, while there was a five-length gap back to 3rd. He then made a few mistakes when over-racing over the 1400m on Anzac Day at Flemington, fading into 8th position, beaten over three lengths by Tonneofgrit. This looks more to his liking and with Damien Oliver in the saddle, the son of Tarzino can kick off with a win.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4 No. 9 SHRIYAA – ($4.80)
Going with SHRIYAA in Race 4. The Maher/Eustace galloper battled on debut on the Ballarat Synthetic but was much better when stepping out at Warracknabeal on September 20, finishing 4th. She settled handy that day and just couldn’t quite reel them in late, going down by just over a length. The daughter of Vadamos went 5.7 lengths slower than standard and should have scope for further improvement. She was scratched from the meeting at Tatura that was transferred to the Synthetic on Friday in preference for this.
