Ballarat Tips 11/7/2023

Race 2 No. 8  EMBARQUE- ($1.65)

EMBARQUE just needs to run up to his debut effort that saw him finish runner-up at Mornington. That came on June 21 at Mornington and he was well backed that day but couldn’t quite go with Our Red Morning, but he did manage to put a five-length gap on the 3rd horse. The daughter of Zoustar went a healthy 3.6 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is five lengths better than what any other horse in this race has produced. Declan Bates rides and will look to cross over from the wide barrier.

Race 3 No 12 WRITTEN BLIGH ($2.45)

Nice performance by WRITTEN BLIGH at her first run back from a spell and the Grahame Begg-trained filly can go a couple of spots better here. The two-year-old was put away after a one start summer campaign that saw her finish 6th at Group 3 level in the Chairman’s Stakes (1000m). She resumed over the 1100m here on June 19  and led at an even tempo before just fading late behind Under And Over, going 3.4 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is four lengths better than the next best lasts start figures of any runner. She will strip fitter at her second run back and is likely to race close to the speed from the barrier.

Race 6 No. 8 ONE OUT – ($3.90)

Keen on ONE OUT in Race 6 of the day at Ballarat. The Tony & Calvin McEvoy-trained galloper has had three runs at his current preparation and tackled the Synthetic for the first time on June 27, finishing runner-up behind Kodiak. The son of Dissident settled back in that race and ran on strongly in the concluding stages, producing the fastest last 200m to finish just under two lengths away. He defeated a few that me meets again in this race and went 1.1 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner.
