CAPE DOCTOR can make it three career wins from as many starts when he steps out in Race 5. The Symon Wilde-trained galloper was his Maiden at Warrnambool back on September 25 before tackling a 0-64 race at that venue over the 1400m and running on well to clear out to a two length win from True Nobility. The son of Trust In A Gust gives the impression that the 1600m should suit and this doesn’t look too much harder.

Race 1 No. 12 NATION STATE- ($3.75)
NATION STATE shapes as a key player in the opener at Ballarat. The three-year-old has had just the one career start for a 3rd behind Regal Zeus at Sale over the 1108m back in June. He settled last that day before running on to go four lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the second best figure that any horse in this race has produced. Three runners out of the Sale race have gone on to win. He comes into this fresh but early market support suggests that the son of All Too Hard should be ready and he draws perfectly in barrier 3.
