Keen on KODIAK in Race 5. The Anthony & Sam Freedman-trained galloper has had the seven career starts and finished runner-up at his first five. He claimed his maiden in dominant fashion at Casterton two starts ago before switching to the Synthetic at Ballarat on June 27 and winning by nearly two lengths from One Out. The son of Flying Artie kicked clear at the top of the straight to go 0.4 lengths faster than standard benchmark and is the only horse in the field to venture into the positive territory at their last start. He can punch forward from the barrier and will be ridden by the 2kg claimer, Ryan Houston, who is three from seven for the stable, providing an 84% profit on turnover for punters.

Going with another last start Synthetic winner in Race 7 and it is COSMIC RHAPSODY that can back up his last start performance to score here on June 27. On that occasion, the locally trained galloper settled handy and reeled them in to score from Philosophers Stone. He rises in grade from that race but should be at his peak at what will be his fourth run, while his form on the surface reads as two wins and four placings from six starts. He has the speed to cross over from barrier 11 and should be in it for a long way.
