Ballarat Tips 22/5/2223
BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)
Race 2 No. 3 SIGNAL- ($1.60
Going with the 12-start Maiden, SIGNAL, in Race 2. The Matt Laurie-trained galloper has placed in seven of those runs and his two runs on Synthetic tracks have yielded two runner-up performances. The four-year-old went down in the final stride behind Frenchmans Bay at the track and trip on May 9, putting a gap on the rest. Willing to take the odds-on and anchor him into some multis.
NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN)
Race 5 No 1 EIGHT SHOUT’S- ($1.95)
EIGHT SHOUT’S can measure up in Race 5. The Tom Dabernig-trained galloper made his debut on the surface on May 9 over the 1400m and drove through strongly on the inside before winning by just under a length from Ghidi. He went 4.4 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is nearly seven lengths better than the next best last start figures of any runner. Look for him to land close to the speed from barrier 3 and be hard to get past late in the piece with Brad Rawiler on board.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4 No. 8 GHIDI- ($6.50)
GHIDI can go one spot better than a last start effort that saw her finish runner-up behind Eight Shouts on the Ballarat Synthetic on May 9. She started at a big price that day and overcame trouble as they cornered before just missing out. The daughter of Palentino produced the fastest late splits and gives the impression that the extra 100m should suit. Stick with her.
