Race 7:  No.6  SHUTTLE RUN  ($3.40 with Ladbrokes)

The Team Freedman-trained SHUTTLE RUN is just three runs into his racing career but has shown enough to suggest he will take beating in this contest. Last start, the All Too Hard gelding came off his maiden win when he beat all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp over 1280m at Muswellbrook. He looked home inside the last 200m but was grabbed late by one better on the day. Well drawn in gate six today, Nick Heywood pilot’s the ship for this assignment and with a trouble-free run, he looks the testing material.

Race 4:  No.7  OUR CITY  ($8.50 with Bet Right)

The Michael Lunn-trained OUR CITY has been in great touch this time in and making her track debut today, she looks a solid winning chance here at odds. Last start, the Boulder City mare posted her second win in four starts when she easily accounted for a Class 1/Maiden field over the mile at Narromine. That was Mikayla Weir’s fourth ride on the mare and the second time she has steered her to victory as she sticks with her today. She is a known back-marker so the wide gate (9) shouldn’t play a part here. This is no harder and if she can handle the step-up in trip here, she should be there at the finish.

Race 6:  No.10  SASS ‘N’ CHEEK  ($12 with Bet Right)

The Goulburn-based galloper SASS ‘N’ CHEEK is also making her track debut today and showing improvement with each start, looks a sneaky chance here at double-figure odds. Last start, the Xtravagant mare was having her third race-start when she broke through for her Maiden win over 1000m on her home track. With Jay Ford in the saddle, she enjoyed the run of the race (one out, one back) and ridden to perfection, she took over inside the final 100m and won by more than a length on the line. Ford retains the ride today and only has to overcome the wide gate to be a real threat in this contest. Certainly worth an each-way ticket here.
