Race 4 No. 6 SPRING IN HER STEP ($4.40)

Michael Poy takes the ride aboard SPRING IN HER STEP in the absence of William Pke for Grant and Alana Williams. The mare put herself into a good spot early for Pike when racing over this track and trip second-up. The pair followed the winner Divine Flirt into the straight to hold ground all the way to the line. Settled handy to a fast tempo last time out when overrun by the likes of #WABlackbookers horse Bread To Flirt. Spring In Her Step was strong through the line in just missing a game Becalotti and Galaxy Cat for a minor placing. The blinkers go on fourth-up and Spring In Her Step should roll forward in a race devoid of early pressure.

Race 7 No. 2 DIVINE FLIRT ($3.15)

Joseph Azzopardi looks dangerous again here aboard the David Harrison trained mare DIVINE FLIRT at Belmont Racecourse on Wednesday. The stalked Forever Classic who set the speed over 1200 metres on a soft 6 track. Divine Flirt had little trouble in putting the front runner to the sword into the straight before holding the rest at bay first-up. Lobbed in a good spot on a similar surface when racing second-up. She just took a little while to wind into her gears for Joey which proved costly as Vogues Choice kicked off a soft lead to score. Divine Flirt ground back the margin late to no avail and she’ll appreciate the 100 metres on Wednesday.

Race 6 No. 11 MONG KHON ($17)

Jason Pateman has re-booked claiming apprentice Cassey Martinan for the ride on MONG KHON in what looks like a dour staying race on Wednesday. Martinan hopped on last start to rate Mong Khon a treat over the mile in a much stronger race. The gelding came back under her when asked to slow the tempo before attempting to give the field the slip on turning. The class of their rivals told out in what was a more than useful effort from Mong Khon. Gets out to a more suitable distance now and Martinan should roll forward in a race lacking genuine speed. Any of the predicted rain falls on Belmont Racecourse on Wednesday just enhances the chances of Mong Khon to win.
