BEST BET 🏆
Race 8 No. 4 MY BELLA MAE ($4.80)
Top class race mare MY BELLA MAE steps out over 1000 metres first-up at Belmont Racecourse on Saturday. The trip may well be short of her best distance, however; she’s ready to go. Patrick Carbery’s arms grew a little longer as he tried his best to restrain into the run. He allowed My Bella Mae to come home the last furlong at her latest trial which saw her claim Searchin’ Roc’s late over the 1000 metres. She’s just a class act who wants to win. My Bella Mae took all before her against the 3yo’s last prep before running a big race in the Winterbottom. Carbery will likely let her roll from and ideal gate and we’ll watch for My Bella Mae to split the gaps and stretch her neck out on the line.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 6 No. 1 ALLEZ ALLEZ ($4.20)
The barrier draw did not make things easy for Chris Parnham on ALLEZ ALLEZ at Belmont Racecourse a fortnight ago. Race strength suggested that it was a race in two between Allez Allez who brought strong metro formlines vs Starry Heights. The latter had built his way through the midweeks to start the odds-on favourite in that race. Allez Allez scored a recent win over this track and trip when Parnham allowed him to stride forward after being caught deep off a similar wide gate. The race panned out similarly for him last start and he was no match for Starry Heights who found a sweet run throughout. The pair meet again, this time with a virtual swap of the barrier draws. Add natural leaders Zephrya and Mountain Ash to the mix and it would appear that Allez Allez can land Johnny-on-the-spot with first crack at them.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 4 No. 1 GENERAL GRANT ($10.20)
Port Kennedy trainer Stephen Miller has accepted with the claim for Brayden Gaerth as last start track and distance winner GENERAL GRANT sneaks up in the weights. General Grant comes through a couple of high rating races in his past couple. Wasn’t beaten all that far to Baramagic as he got out to 2000 metres second-up. Proved too strong here a fortnight ago when Michael Poy gave the horse an ideal run handy to the speed. General Grant ground his way past them into the straight to hold out Let’sdeal and he can only have improved from the run.
