BEST BET 🏆
Race 8 No. 2 UPPER LIMITS – ($4)
Happy to suggest the boys bring the A-Grade form into the Belmont Classic on Saturday with UPPER LIMITS impressive when winning the Aquanita. William Pike has made his call in sticking with the Belmont Oaks winning filly Ihts Closing Inn. This has opened the door for Clint Johnston-Porter to take the ride of Upper Limits on Saturday. Pike’s mount does appear the genuine stayer, however Upper Limits does look the classier animal to the eye. He rounded the bigger field up from the top of the straight to possibly hit the front a little early. Didn’t matter much though as Pike kept him going strongly through the line. Would think that Upper Limits will handle the step up in trip, and CJP is sure to give him a good ride throughout.

Race 1 No. 6 EMPRESS OF INDIA – ($4)
William Pike takes the ride on up-and-coming filly EMPRESS OF INDIA in the opener at Belmont on Saturday. She had the one public jump out over 400 metres where she won impressively in sharp time. Dion Luciani then had her resuming over this track and trip during the midweeks. Empress Of India tried to follow the leader Rupert’s Empire with that horse giving her the slip into the straight. He established a winning break shortly after straightening with Empress Of India reeling him in late to just miss in a close photo. Both horses will strip fitter for the run as they take on Saturday grade while second-up. Should think Rupert’s Empire will cop pressure on the speed while Empress Of India has fared better with the handicapper.

Race 7 No. 8 PLANET CASH – ($6)
We identified PLANET CASH last prep as a horse with ability and he showed as much again when racing first-up over 1200 metres at Belmont. Lucy Fiore had allowed Planet Cash to find his feet back in the field in one of the few races where the leader had won. Planet Cash peeled off the fence prior to straightening before commencing his run up the middle. He finished best of the rest from a long way back to grab second in a photo. Fiore found a quiet run last time before unleashing Planet Cash into the straight. The pair scored impressively while coming away from the others and we’re happy to stick with them again on Saturday.
