BEST BET 🏆

Race 1 No. 1 WHY ME – ($2)

Albany trainer Steve Wolfe is bringing WHY ME back to mid-week class in a delicious move for punters. The early market has played along in offering as much as even-money about the 2yo who brings strong Saturday fromlines into the race. Why Me rates strongly on exposed form while the unraced Playing Quest has shown ability at the trials. Why Me resumed over 1000 metres here two starts ago when settling around midfield before towing the winner into the race. He still seemed to have Rope Them In off the bit around the turn before the well-backed commodity picked him up late. Settled well off them when the speed went on over the same trip at latest. Why Me seemed to take an age to get there before hitting the line with Red Square holding on to survive.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6 No. 10 FEARLESS TALK – ($10)

Victoria Corva rated FEARLESS TALK to perfection as Eddie Philp sent the filly around over this track and trip following a let-up. The ride of Corver was nearly enough to steal the show with Brad Parnham riding for dear life on the odds-on favourite Duchess Of Gossip. Corver had gradually worked Fearless Talk over from their wide barrier to eventually lead. The pair gave a good kick into the straight as Parnham utilised the cutaway to start chipping away at the margin. Fearless Talk showed little sign of shortening stride as the rest of the field made no impression. The class of Duchess Of Gossip ended up being enough to get her over the line after receiving the run of the race. That filly backed her performance with a gutsy second to War Gem on Saturday, writing her name in the #WABlackbookers file.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 3 No. 3 DIAMOND COMMAND – ($8)

Ascot trainer Neville Parnham got the prep underway for DIAMOND COMMAND by having his filly resume over 1400 metres at home. Diamond Command found herself a long way back early in the slowly run race. Parnham then brought her back to 1200 metres second-up where she really hit the line late. Diamond Command was racing over this track and trip with Brad Parnham allowing her to find her feet early. The first three in the run and into the straight all featured the four-way photo. Diamond Command was the only horse to close late on the trio, running third and beaten about a neck. She looks ready to win and can enjoy a bit more pressure up front while perfectly drawn.
