BEST BET 🏆

Race 1 No. 4 RULING DAME ($2.95)

Ascot trainer Daniel Morton found plenty of improvement in the second-up run with his mare RULING DAME. She was perhaps a little stiff to be beaten as she ran second to the form horse Flash Max. She jumped beautifully to find a spot in the off-pace position before her rider Clint Johnston-Porter had to take hold to avoid the heels of the horse in front. Ruling Dame over raced as a consequence of becoming shuffled back to worse than midfield. CJP worked his way into the clear by following the winner into the straight. Flash Max had stolen a march with the margin being too great as the line neared. Ruling Dame went down by half a length over the 1300 metres with the third horse Wango Award only narrowly beaten by Bread To Flirt at her next start. Gutsy winner for us since as our Best Bet when came from near last to score off a slow tempo over 1400m.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 9 No. 2 RED FIFTY THREE ($2.40)

William Pike drew wide with RED FIFTY THREE in the last at Belmont Park Racecourse. They weren’t the quickest to begin and Pike was quick to further restrain his mount. Red Fifty Three resented being ridden cold with Patrick Carbery steadying the speed on Zephyra. The leader stole a break into the straight before Cold Shizzle came from off her back to score. A tenacious Red Fifty Three kept coming to the line from a long way back to grab third. We’ve seen that this horse can be ridden more forward when he won over 1200m second-up at his previous start. Has won two in a row since black booking the horse after that run and there’s no reason not to be on him once again.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 4 No. 4 COSTA DEL SANTO ($12)

Small fields and short prices plague the card for Belmont Racecourse on Saturday. One of those is our #WABlackbookers horses in Californication who was probably a run short when failing over this track and trip. Punters have latched as he strips fitter third-up. We’ll fill our mission statement of finding a Value Bet by playing around that horse with COSTA DEL SANTO. Costa settled back off that good/even pace to range outside of Californication into the straight and put his head down for second. Held-up for a run the start prior when running fourth in a midweek race behind Mama Tembu and Eldorado River with Kelora running third. Both the winner and third horse have since come out to win in town last week. The form around Costa Del Santo is all positive, the only thing that lets him down is his winning strike rate.
