BEST BET 🏆

Race 5:  No.2  MASTER JOE  ($2.15 with Ladbrokes)

Locally-trained by Scott Collings, MASTER JOE is a true track specialist and every box is ticked here to have him as our best of the day. Last start, the Unencumbered gelding was on a hat-trick when he ended his last campaign, finishing unplaced in a Class 3 Hwy Hcp over 1100m at Rosehill. A drifter in the market ($15-$20), he found that field a little too strong on the day. Returning to his home track, he should find this a lot easier and has Nick Heywood back on board who boasts two wins and two second-prize finishes with the six-year-old. He resumes from an 11-week spell today and is already a two-time winner when first-up. Six starts at the track have resulted in (all three) career wins and two runner-up rewards. Well drawn in gate four today and back on home soil, he should take a lot of beating here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 1:  No.3  PRETTY EYED  ($3.35 with BoomBet)

The Keith Dryden-trained PRETTY EYED makes the 90-minute trip up the Federal Hwy and sees the Goulburn track for the first time but is bringing an impressive resume with her today that puts her right in the mix here. Last start, the Hellbent mare made it back-to-back wins when she accounted for a 10-strong field in a BM58 over the mile at Moruya. Settling second-last, she spotted the leaders eight lengths approaching the turn where Nick Heywood pulled her out wide and she simply finished too strong for them in the end. She steps-up in trip today and has more weight to carry but has Heywood sticking with her and meeting similar company here, she still looks the one to beat.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.11  DESTRUCTIVE DIVA  ($6.75 with Picklebet)

The Norm Gardner-trained DESTRUCTIVE DIVA drops in grade today and down in the weights, she can play a major role in the outcome here. Last start, the Smart Missile filly was third-up this time in when she finished third in Open company on her home track at Canberra. With Mathew Cahill aboard, she came from last (in a small field) and finished off strongly to grab the minor prize. She should be at her peak today with three runs under her belt this preparation and coming in on the limit (55kgs) here, she can give this contest a real shake at odds.
