BEST BET 🏆  

Race 1 No. 1 MANAVENDRA – ($4)

Team Pearce have resisted the notion of placing a claiming apprentice aboard MANAVENDRA despite the 4 kilo weight gap between him and the filly Antique Miss. They have the confidence to go with senior rider Chris Parnham and we’re happy to back them in. The opener would appear to be a two-horse race between this pair. Antique Miss deserves to start as the favourite; however, she’s certainly no flip of the coin job. Parnham may well find an uncontested lead on Manavendra with race experience in this class telling over his rivals. They were overrun inside the last 100m over this track and trip last start by Arcadia Star. This race would appear as a slight step back in class on that, and manavendra can go one better this time around.

Race 3 No. 4 ROCK THIS TOWN – ($3.60)

Jarrad Noske and Joseph Azzopardi will ensure the backmarkers get their chance as they let fly in the early stages with both ROCK THIS TOWN and Supernova. The latter may have to do a bit of work to cross and Azzopardi could well attempt to sit just off the leader. Rock This Town gained a flyer of a start first-up from an outside barrier over this track and trip. He’ll strip fitter for the run and while now up in class, does seem to have some upside about him. He really was only claimed deep inside the last 100m last time while recording one of the sharper times to the day.

Race 8 No. 4 FEDERATION ROCKS – ($6.50)

Brandon Louis climbs aboard FEDERATION ROCKS in the last for the Gangemi crew. This horse is fitter for two handy runs back and stays to class following his second placing to Exceltrain. That was over 1400 metres and coming back 100 metres in trip won’t go against him. Luke Campbell found a spot forward of midfield before bringing Federation Rocks into the race shortly after straightening. The winner Exceltrain was a little bit too good and put a gap on his rivals with the interest in the minors. Federation Rocks had started to peak on his run late while still comfortably holding the rest.
