Race 7 No. 5 RULELEE ($4.40)

Gingin trainer Sue Olive found a drying track for her mare RULELEE over this track and distance in Saturday grade last start. Rulelee had shown some improvement with her prior start when going to the front early on a Heavy track and not beaten far from Seminole Brave. Travelled strongly on the bridle throughout for Clint Johnston-Porter last time when settling behind the leaders. CJP brought her with a run back to the inside and Rulelee battled on gamely as the smart Duchess Of Gossip raced on by. Rulelee finished just out of the placings in a close go for the minors and is better suited with the step back midweek grade.

Race 4 No. 3 WAR HYMN ($8)

Apprentice rider Madi Derrick is searching for her first Belmont Racecourse winner and can get it on Wednesday aboard WAR HYMN. The mare hasn’t had a great deal of luck in higher grades recently and will be suited with the step back in class. War Hymn stuck on gamely after being caught three wide no cover the speed first-up. The winner Changing Guard has gone on to win again since, leaving a handy formline behind. Pay to forgive in similar circumstances second-up before Holly Watson gave her a peach of a ride behind the speed. War Hymn was not quite up to that grade with Ponyo, and Derrick should be able to afford her a good run from the gate in this.

Race 5 No. 2 ELDORADO RIVER ($16.20)

The two races that ELDORADO RIVER has come back in since resuming have rated well for a race like this. She goes around third-up at Belmont Racecourse on Wednesday and will enjoy getting back on top of the ground. Taj Dyson had Eldorado River travelling into the race nicely from a midfield position last start. The pair became held-up momentarily soon after straightening with Dyson making his run back to the inside. The winner Changing Guard had come up the middle with momentum along with the second horse Collective. Eldorado River had peaked on her run with Wednesday’s rival Kelora holding her safely to the line. Think that’s the right form to follow if we’re to bet outside the favourite Stormy Tawny.
