The early market affords us a price about AZTEC RULER in the first at Belmont Racecourse on Saturday. Settled back off a good speed over this track and trip two starts back before powering past his rivals for a comfortable win. He carried a similar weight that day before trainer Stefan Vahala tried him out to open class over a mile last week. Brad Parnham just kidded to the others out in front as he led on the winner Ginger Baker. Aztec Ruler had been backed as if unbeatable before over racing from midfield off the slow tempo. He got home okay and will appreciate getting back to 1400 metres while coming back in grade.

Race 7 No. 1 CASH AWAY ($5.75)
Brayden Gaerth retains the ride aboard CASH AWAY who has been racing of great heart of late. He was a winner over this track and trip three starts ago before splitting both Sisu Warrior and Let’s Galahvant in a much stronger race. Clint Johnston-Porter followed the winner into it that day with Cash Away finding the two-length margin too much to overcome into the straight. Gaerth afforded his mount a beautiful run from the back of midfield before transitioning off the fence into the straight last start. The grey could not reel in Pompey before the line as those two horses left a space back to the rest.

Race 9 No. 6 CELEBRITY PRINCE ($6.50)
The barrier draw coinciding with the imminent return of Triple Jay has thrown the market wide open for the last at Belmont Racecourse on Saturday. Chris Parnham gave CELEBRITY PRINCE the perfect steer from midfield when the pair scored second-up over this track and trip. The speed was on with Parnham biding his time near the rail with Becalotti three wide around him. That horse was racing first-up off a six-week break and can improve here had she drawn a pill. Celebrity Prince raced past them inside the furlong to steal a winning break over Saloon Bar who stormed late. Saturday’s draw has not favoured either of these three horses; however, winning form is good form and Celebrity Prince can continue to improve into his prep.
