BEST BET 🏆  

Race 7 No. 1 NO CHANGE – ($7)

We thought we were home when we had NO CHANGE as our best bet last start. Sprang the gates first-up to gain a comfortable lead before upping the ante to score over 1200m here on resumption. Ran good time from the front before engaging in a two-horse battle up the straight when racing second-up. #WABlackbookers horse Magnificent Andy pulled out enough to defy No Change with a gap back to the rest. He blew the start when we were on before having Never Sober challenge from the onset at Ascot. No Change dropped him to boot clear into the straight. He ended up being rolled in the shadows by Vast Art with these three horses all clashing again. We’re lamenting that tardy beginning from No Change and are confident he can reverse the result with a clean jump.

Race 1 No. 2 MASAMUNE – ($4.40)

They ran a good time as race favourite Sass Machine ran them along at a good clip. The winner Eliteone lived up to his name after lobbing out the back early before extending like a good horse to nail Sass Machine. Trainer Darren McAuliffe left us some clues pre-race as to the tractability of MASAMUNE on debut. The Lugging bit together with a crossover noseband suggested that Chris Parnham may have his work cut out. Masamune did not handle the turn at all well and took some time to balance up. Masamune then extended like a good horse into the straight to finish strongly behind the placegetters.

Race 6 No. 7 MY BABY BLUE JEAN – ($11)

Mitchell Pateman took over the training of MY BABY BLUE JEAN to produce an immediate result at Pinjarra. The race was gifted to her on a platter as she became a little keen in front off the slack tempo. My Baby Blue Jean packed plenty when Austin Galati slipped her some leather with the pair scoring a comfortable win. The mare must not have taken any ill-effects from the run as she was backed-up three days later for the first time in her career. This time she really did run along in front under Taj Dyson to only go down half-a-length to Valency. Pateman keeps her to the 1000 metre trip as Holy Watson takes the ride. The field she met last start was of a good standard and that form can stand up here.
