Race 5 No. 1 CAPTAIN ENVIOUS – ($3.35)

CAPTAIN ENVIOUS should find this more to his liking. The Paul Preusker-trained galloper stepped up sharply in trip from the 1400m to the 2100m two starts ago and battled on the Heavy behind the likes of White Marlin and Right You Are in the Group 3 Easter Cup (2000m) at Sandown before settling back in Listed level at Adelaide, running 6th behind Hasta La War over the 2500m. The winner out of that has since rattled home for 3rd in the Andrew Ramsden Stakes (2800m). Captain Envious comes into this fourth up and has the fitness in the tank, while the 3kg claim gets him down to a winnable weight. 

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN) 

Race 2 No 13 KUSINI – ($3.80)

KUSINI can make it back to back wins when she steps out in Race 2. The Maher/Eustace filly was solid on debut at Benalla before heading to Pakenham and leading all the way over the 1200m ahead of Glowlight. She was strong to the line in that race. The daughter of Magnus should have improvement to come at he third start and has attracted early support in the betting, while she can box seat from barrier 2.
