Race 5 No. 6 GENERAL FIREPOWER- ($3) 

GENERAL FIREPOWER should be ready to strike when he steps out in Race 5. The Mike Moroney-trained galloper needed the run when resuming at Bendigo with an 8th before heading to Wodonga and just missing when filling the exacta behind Northernero. He settled handy in that race before running on. The five-year-old was a winner when third up at his last preparation and should tuck in just behind them from the inside barrier.

Race 7 No. 7  KING OF THE WORLD- ($3.80) 

KING OF THE WORLD should be hard to beat in Race 7. The five-year-old has thrived since getting out past the 2000m and was a winner at Geelong two starts ago over the 2240m before a last start effort that saw him miss out in a head-bobber behind Dictionary. He put a five-length gap on the rest of them in that race and went 0.5 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is five lengths better than the class average and three lengths better than the next best last start figures of any runner. Barrier 3 and Teo Nugent on board are further ticks.
