Race 4 No. 8 TOP TORRENT- ($3.15)
Nice performance by TOP TORRENT at his first run in Australia, which came at Seymour on June 6. The former Kiwi was lining up for his first run since coming to Australia and settled just off them in the small field, doing a couple of things wrong in the run before producing the fastest last 200m to just miss out to finish runner-up behind Divazou. The 3rd place getter has since gone on to claim her Maiden at Sale and Top Torrent went 0.4 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is the second best figure that any horse in this race has produced and nearly four lengths better than the next best last start figures of any runner. He is likely to get Heavy ground again and draws to be handy from barrier 6.

Race 7 No 5 MISS BALVENIE- ($3.10)
MISS BALVENIE can go close in Race 7 of the day. The Tom Dabernig-trained mare has had two runs at her current preparation and was ok in a BenchMark 78 when resuming with a 5th behind Viviane at Sandown before again bumping into that horse when 5th at the same track. The daughter of Vanbrugh should be nearing her peak at her third run and drops in grade for this assignment, while the likelihood of a track in the Heavy range will suit.
