BEST BET 🏆

Race 4:  No.2  ARMOUR FORCE  ($1.75 with Palmerbet)

Local trainer Steve Massingham saddles-up AMOUR FORCE here and boasting three wins from his past four starts, he couldn’t be in better form. Last start, the Fastnet Rock gelding resumed off a lengthy 31-week absence when he showed no signs of fatigue in beating home an 11-strong field in a BM58 Hcp, here over 1250m. Ryan Wiggins was aboard for the first time that day and overcame drawing the outside gate to steer the four-year-old home, finishing more than a length ahead of them that day. Already a winner when second-up, he has Wiggins sticking with him here who boasts a 25% success rate with the Massingham stable. An easy winner at the track and distance last start, he looks the best of the day.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6:  No.3  PLAGIARIZED  ($3.30  with Neds)

Local galloper PLAGIARIZED is in career-best form of late and looks well placed here to bring up the hat-trick today. Last start, the Exceed And Excel gelding made it back-to-back wins when he led from barrier to box in a BM70 Hcp, here over the 950m sprint. Krysten Swaffer rode him a treat that day as she dictated terms up front, controlling the tempo. Ideally drawn in gate three today, Swaffer sticks with him and is looking to keep her 100% strike rate alive after steering his to three wins from as many rides to date. Rock-hard fit and on his home track, he looks the goods in this contest.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 7:  No.3  ROUGH CUT JEWEL  ($4 with bet365

Locally-trained by Alwyn Bailey, ROUGH CUT JEWEL is third-up today and after five-straight minor placings should now be ready to win. Last start, the Wittington gelding found a couple a little stronger (again) when he took home third prize in a BM58 Hcp, here over 1250m. With Lacey Morrison aboard that day, he settle too far back early, making the job of running down the leaders that much harder, and as expected, arrived too late to threaten for victory. He has drawn wide here but with very little early pace here, he gets the opportunity to cross and settle near mid-field, giving him a better chance of figuring in the finish today. ‘Lethal’ Lacey has the reins again and fitter for two runs back, he looks a genuine chance of claiming the major prize here.
