BEST BET 🏆
Race 6: No.4 BRINGBACKTHEBEARS ($4 with bet365)
Locally-trained by Keith Dryden, BRINGBACKTHEBEARS has returned in top-shelf form and looks right at home in this contest today. After winning his first two runs this time in, he then missed a podium finish when he took on BM70 company, finishing last of the five runners. Last start, the Xtravagant gelding bounced back to beat all but one home in a BM65 over 1750m, here on the synthetic track with Brendan Ward on board. He drew the outside gate that day (10) and was trapped three-wide without cover for most of the race. After four runs in, he will be at his peak today and the step-up in distance looks ideal as he drops 2.5kgs for this event. Ward sticks witrh him and already a winner on the surface, he will take beating here.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 3: No.2 WOODZY ($11 with Ladbrokes)
The Danny Williams-trained WOODZY has improved with every run and having his fourth race start today, he looks in the mix in this contest. Last start, the well-bred Flying Artie gelding came from back in the field to grab third prize in a 1010m Maiden Hcp at Moruya. The 1280m here looks ideal for him now as Quayde Krogh takes the reins for this assignment. It is his first look at a synthetic track so we are taking him on trust here. Rock-hard fit after three starts now, it won’t be a lack of fitness that beats him here. A clear run to the line should see him finishing strongly again and he looks well worth an each-way ticket today.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7: No.8 WELL IN SIGHT ($13.20 with BoomBet)
Mitch Beer makes the four-hour trip from Albury today and here he saddles-up WELL IN SIGHT who is second-up and looks a serious contender in this line-up. Last start, the Shalaa mare was fresh off a lengthy five-month break when she finished third at Wagga on a Heavy 8 over 1000m. This is her first look at synthetic track racing and she has Nick Souquet as the pilot today. She gets all the favours here after drawing gate one where she maps to settle near the speed. Already a winner when second-up and a three-time winner over the trip, she looks great value at (currently) double-figures and an each-way ticket looks the go here.
