BEST BET 🏆

Race 6:  No.8  KELVEDON ROAD  ($5.50 with Ladbrokes)

Local galloper KELVEDON ROAD is second-up today and ticks all the boxes that point towards another victory here. Last start, the Star Witness gelding was first-up after more than 12 months off the scene and coming off an unplaced trial effort, proved too strong for them when taking out an Open Hcp over 1010m at Moruya. With Jordan Mallyon aboard, he came from last to pass them all and grab victory on the line. Mallyon sticks with him today and already a winner second-up and a two-time winner on home soil, he will take beating here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 4:  No.7  MOOSHAKA  ($4.20 with Bet Right)

The Nick Olive-trained MOOSHAKA got the job done for us when resuming and looks set to frank that form and salute again today. Last start, the Pride of Dubai mare resumed off an 18-week spell and clobbered them in a BM58 Hcp over 1000m on her home track at Queanbeyan. Billy Owen celebrated his first win (from eight rides) on the mare that day. Fitter for that run here, she is already a two-time winner at the track and distance and is a winner when second-up as well. Owen remains on board and with a clear run to the line, this little lady looks set for back-to-back wins today.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 2:  No.2  JIMMY NAILS  ($8 with Bet Right)

The Keith Dryden-trained JIMMY NAILS is three starts into this preparation and looks well placed here for back-to-back victories today. Last start, the Xtravagant gelding broke through for his first win in a 1650m Maiden Plate at Moruya. Weaving through traffic in the run home, Nick Heywood steered him to victory that day, finishing a length clear in the end. Heywood remains the pilot for this assignment and the step-up to the 2000m looks ideal for him. Nicely drawn in gate four, a trouble-free run here should see him in the firing line at the finish.
