Race 4: No.2 KOUKLARA ($6 with Palmerbet)
Third-up tonight, the Joe Pride-trained KOUKLARA should be just about at her peak and the stats on her resume suggest she will take a ton of beating here. After a first-up win at Rosehill over 1300m, the five-year-old then stepped-up to a 1600m contest at Warwick Farm where she finished just behind the placegetters in roughly-run affair. She comes back to Canterbury tonight where three starts here has resulted in a win (over the 1550m trip) and two runner-up finishes. Tyler Schiller is two and two from five rides on the mare and has the reins again tonight. She maps to settle near mid-field from gate five and with a clear run to the line, she should prove hard to hold out here.

Race 6: No.1 AKASAWA ($4 with Palmerbet)
The Paul Messara-trained AKASAWA missed his first podium finish in seven career-starts at Rosehill but looks well placed here to bounce back tonight. Last start, the Real Impact gelding was coming off a first-up win (on this track) when he stepped-up in grade (and distance), finishing fifth in a BM78 Hcp over 1400m. He ran that trip out, 5.3 lengths quicker than benchmark, a new personal best and 5 lengths better than his rivals here. He comes back to BM72 company tonight and after steering him to that win here two starts back, Zac Lloyd again has control for this contest. With a trouble-free run here and a little luck in running, already a third-up winner, he can give this a real shake tonight.
