Race 7 No. 10 NUMPTY- ($5.50)

NUMPTY can break a bit of a drought in Race 7. The five-year-old has won just one of 14 but has placed in seven and hasn’t been far away in her three runs this time in. The Archie Alexander-trained mare overcame a wide run to finish runner-up behind Grassmere Jewel over the 1200m at Casterton on October 18 before again missing out behind that horse when 4th at her most recent start. She drew wide and worked hard in the early stages before just fading late. A firmer in the early betting, the daughter of Free Eagle should be nearing her peak and can go very close.

Race 5 No. 2 CHARGENLIKAPLUMA- ($5.50)

CHARGENLIKAPLUMA gets another chance in Race 5 of the day at Terang. The Robbie Griffiths and Matthew de Kock-trained galloper has lacked the killer punch in his three runs this time in, finishing runner-up on each occasion. He settled handy at Moe on November 7 and couldn’t quite reel in Life Lessons but had a gap on the rest. He can cross over from the wide barrier and should stick on well once again.
