Caulfield Tips 2/12/2023

BEST BET 🏆

Race 4 No. 3 MIRAVAL ROSE ($2)

MIRAVAL ROSE should be hard to beat in the Twilight Glow Stakes. The Grahame Begg filly has finished in the top two in all three of her career starts and was a winner first up at Kyneton in Maiden grade over the 1118m before jumping sharply in grade and finishing runner-up behind Brazen Style at Group 3 level at Caulfield over the 1200m on November 18. She drew wide that day and worked early. The daughter of Grunt shouldn’t have to burn too much fuel early on from barrier 4 and gives the impression that the step to the 1400m will suit

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5 No. 3 AIN’TNODEELDUN- ($3.50)

AIN’TNODEELDUN can go close in the Eclipse Stakes. The Anthony & Sam Freedman-trained galloper has won three on the trot with the most recent of those coming in the Group 3 JRA Cup (2040m) at Moonee Valley. The six-year-old has produced some excellent figures in his recent wins and has the ability to bat deep into his campaign, winning at this stage last time. The son of Dundeel has had four starts at the distance for three wins and a runner-up and will sit just off them from barrier 7 with Billy Egan to ride.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7 No. 1 ARKANSAW KID- ($2.40)

ARKANSAW KID is a major player in the Sandown Guineas. The Team Hayes-trained galloper was excellent when running on for 4th in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington before rising to the 1400m at Caulfield and placing 3rd behind Run Harry Run in the Blue Sapphire Stakes (1400m). He was back that day and produced the fastest last 400m. The son of Harry Angel gets out to the 1600m and will be strong late in the piece.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 8 No. 4 MURAMASA- ($5)

Keen on MURAMASA in the Zipping Classic. The four-year-old has looked after us in recent times and was a dominant winner in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2600m) at his most recent start to make it a hat-trick of wins. The Busuttin/Young galloper went a healthy 15.7 lengths faster than standard benchmark that day, which is the best last start figure of any runner. He was a winner over the 2000m at Caulfield prior to that and should enjoy the favours from barrier 4.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 2 No. 9 STARIANNE – ($7.50)

STARIANNE shapes as a solid player in Race 2. The Busuttin/Young galloper was a winner first up over the 1400m at Pakenham in a BenchMark 78 before heading to Flemington on Oaks day, finishing 6th over the 1700m behind Precious Charm. She faded late in the piece that day but will strip fitter at her third run back The promising galloper was a noted improver on benchmark figures at the third run of her last preparation before placing 4th at Group 1 level in the Australasian Oaks (2000m). The daughter of Sebring should enjoy a nice run from barrier 3 and will be ridden by Daniel Moor.
