Race 4 No. 2 ARCHWAY TO HEAVEN – ($3.80)

Clare track specialist ARCHWAY TO HEAVEN strips fitter for three runs back this prep. Pushed forward outside the leader at Warracknabeal to run along at a solid tempo. He gave ground from the turn when racing second-up over 1200 metres that day yet wasn’t beaten far. Improved dramatically at his next start as trainer Scott Whittle sent him to town. Showed good speed after missing the kick slightly to lead them up over six-furlongs at Morphettville. Ended-up being over-run late by the likes of Bamyan Buddha and Fallow who did the stalking. Whittle has given Archway To Heaven a little freshen-up between runs with that fitness base under his belt.

Race 2 No. 4 JILLADORA – ($3.20)

We identified JILLADORA last prep as a horse with significant potential. The filly is just inclined to do a bit wrong, including being tardy at the start. She showed again during her recent trial at Strathalbyn that she is yet to master the barrier stalls. Jilladora was always trucking along the inside for Miss Caitlin Tootell then let down nicely to pick up Cassandra Isobell. That Strathalbyn trial is enough to say she’s in good stead to tackle her first-up assignment in Clare on Sunday. Don’t mind her being drawn out a bit either as Maggie Collett will be able to build into the race with momentum.

Race 7 No. 12 PRANCE ’N’ DANCE – ($10)

Morphettville trainer John Croucher has found the right race for PRANCE ’N’ DANCE who should be ready to produce now third-up. Dom Tourneur gave the filly a treat from their wide barrier first-up over 1000 metres at Morphettville Parks. He found the fence on her with Prance “N’ Dance chasing gamely as Chosen Blonde proved too fast with Calla Dream. Lobbed out the back of the small field second-up over 1200 metres at Headquarters before coming as the widest runner. It was always going to be hard to make ground in the race won by Rockstar Megssy over subsequent winner Kiki Express. Prance ‘N’ Dance continued gamely despite peaking inside the 100m to finish a respectable margin off a handy group.
