BEST BET 🏆

Race 8:  No.9  BONJOUR RUPERT  ($6.50 with Ladbrokes)

The Brett Cavanough-trained BONJOUR RUPERT is in great touch this preparation and looks set to continue his good work here. Last start, the Winning Rupert gelding came off a second-up win (on this track), when he stepped up in grade and took home third prize in a Class 2 Hcp over 1200m at Murwillumbah. The stable have gone for the blinkers (off-side) today as Andrew Gibbons jumps aboard for the first time. Nicely drawn in gate five, he maps to settle in the first half of the field and already a winner here, he can do it all again in this contest.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 4:  No.5  ENTERPRISE SUCCESS  ($4.40 with bet365)

Grafton galloper ENTERPRISE SUCCESS sees the Coffs Harbour track for the first time today and with conditions to suit, it could be a winning track debut for him today. Last start, the Spill The Beans gelding tried leading all the way but was grabbed on the line by a swooper, leaving him with another second prize finish. Ben Looker sticks with him for this assignment and he gets the gun run from gate one today. With plenty of early speed here, he may take a sit behind the mad dash up front. Rock-hard fit after four starts, he should be running on at the finish.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.3  LION CLASS  ($4.05 with BoomBet)

The Taree-based LION CLASS is another who makes his Coffs Harbour debut today and third-up, looks well in the mix for another win. Last start, the Pluck gelding came off a first-up win on his home track when he took on a BM58 over 1007m at the same track and finished fourth in the event. Caught three-wide without cover, he was always up against it in the run home and did well to finish where he did. Fitter for those two runs back, Zac Wadick sticks with him here and he gets all the favours, jumping from gate one today. With a trouble-free run, he can take this contest out.
