BEST BET 🏆

Race 6:  No.4  SIMPLY XTRAVAGANT  ($3.70 with Ladbrokes)

The Brett Robb-trained SIMPLY XTRAVAGANT is racing in top-shelf form this time in and looks set to continue on her winning way in this contest. Last start, the Xtravagant mare brought up the hat-trick in fine style when she clobbered a BM66 field at Coonamble over 1400m. With Clay Gallagher aboard, she pushed forward from the outside gate (9) and settled alongside the leader, then took control passing the 200m mark and went on to win by 1.5 lengths on the line. Gallagher sticks with her today and from gate two, she looks set to make it four-straight here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7:  No.1  KNIFE’S EDGE  ($3.40 with bet365)

Garry Lunn saddles-up KNIFE’S EDGE here who has found the podium four times from five starts this campaign and at his peak today, looks a real threat to take the cup home to Dubbo. Last start, the American-bred gelding found one better (yet again) when he took home second prize in Open company over 1400m on his home track. Wide all the way, he was beaten half a length on the line where the winner stuck to the fence the entire journey. He is drawn out again today but maps to settle near mid-field with cover. Aaron Bullock has his first ride on the galloper today and with five runs under his belt this time in and a winner at the track, he looks right in the mix here.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 8:  No.10  SMART AND DAPPER  ($6 with Picklebet)

The Brett Thompson-trained SMART AND DAPPER is third-up today and looks set to make his track debut a winning one. Last start, the Smart Missile gelding showed plenty of improvement when he beat all but one to the line in a Class 2 Hcp at Coonamble over 1100m. In a fast run affair, he shard the lead with another and inside the final 200m took over but was grabbed on the line by swooper. Jake Pracey-Holmes returns for his second ride on the galloper who is ideally drawn in gate two. Already a winner when third-up, his last-start effort gave every indication he is ready pounce today.
