Race 8 No. 8 GOLDEN PATH- ($2.50)

The feature of the day is the Seymour Cup and GOLDEN PATH should be hard to beat. The promising galloper from the Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr stables has had the five career runs and has landed in the top two in four of those, winning two. He resumed with a runner-up performance at Sandown on September 13 over the 1300m before tackling the Group 3 Sandown Stakes (1500m) and finishing 4th behind Antino. Third up at his initial preparation, the four-year-old produced a big spike to go nine lengths faster than standard when winning by more three lengths over the 1600m at Flemington. A firmer in the early betting, the son of Belardo draws perfectly in barrier 5 and should be ready.

Race 5 No. 4 CHIHULY- ($3.10)

This looks to be a suitable assignment for CHIHULY. The Greg Eurell-trained galloper has had three runs this time in for a couple of minor placings to kick off. He tackled a BenchMark 78 at his most recent start and ran 6th behind Foujita San, beaten just over two lengths. The four-year-old settled back that day and was strong late in the piece to go 5.5 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is more than seven lengths better than the next best last start figures of any runner. He drops back in grade for this and the extra 200m looks like it will suit.
