BEST BET 🏆
Race 4: No.4 SATAY CHICKEN ($1.65 with Ladbrokes)
He is skinny with the bagmen today but the Cody Morgan-trained SATAY CHICKEN looks the pick of the crop here and will take a ton of beating in this contest. Last start, the Iffraaj gelding battled on gamely to finish third in a Class 1/Maiden over the mile at Tamworth, beaten just over a length that day. He ran a new personal best, covering the trip, 5.4 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best last-start effort among his rivals here and recorded the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals as well. Aaron Bullock remains on board for this event, having ridden the four-year-old in all four previous career starts and drawn well in gate five today, he looks the testing material.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 6: No.5 BOHO CHICK ($7 with BlueBet)
Wyong galloper BOHO CHICK sees the Coonamble track for the first time today and in career-best form, looks a better than even chance in this contest. Last start, the Myboycharlie mare did enough to take out a BM58 over 1350m on the Beaumont track at Newcastle. She ran her last 600m, 1.6 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up by more than 5 lengths. Grant Buckley steered her to victory at Port Macquarie four starts back and is in the saddle again today. This looks no harder than her last assignment and now five starts into this campaign, she should be at her peak and looks set for back-to-back wins today at very generous odds.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 2: No.5 NORMAN ($6.50 with TAB)
Gunnedah galloper NORMAN makes his Coonamble debut today and after finding his mojo of late, looks a winning chance here. Last start, the Exceed And Excel gelding brought up his first win for this campaign when he took out a Class 1/Maiden over the mile at Tamworth. He ran that out, 4.4 lengths slower than benchmark, a new personal best and still the best in this field. He also posted the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race. In top gear now, Billy Cray sticks with him here and from gate four, he looms as a real threat to these.
