Race 1 No. 6 THE MANSMAN- ($3.70) 

Giving THE MANSMAN another chance in Race 1. The Phillip Stokes-trained galloper missed out in a head-bobber for us at his most recent start, finishing runner-up behind Little Jack. He chased strongly in that race, which was over the 1400m at Cranbourne, to go 1.1 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the best figure that any horse in this race has produced. Step up to the 1600m looks like it should suit the son of Harry Angel.

Race 7 No. 11  CADENABBIA-  ($6) 

CADENABBIA can go close in Race 7. The four-year-old won well at Bendigo when resuming before heading to Caulfield and running 4th over the 1100m on December 14 behind Kusini. She was working home well from the tail in that race before behind held up in the straight. She should have finished a bit closer that day and comes in with the best last start benchmark figures, despite the lack of luck last time. The daughter of Sepoy is a slight question mark over the 1300m but has returned in solid fashion this preparation and draws to save ground from barrier 1. 

NEXT BEST 🥈   

Race 8 No. 3 CADAZIO- ($3.90) 

We close off with a BenchMark 64 over the 2080m and CADAZIO should be hard to beat. The Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr-trained galloper was a winner at Ballarat over the 1600m two starts ago before heading to Caulfield and working home well for 5th behind Dublin Journal. Form out of that race has been solid and he worked home well to finish three lengths away. The son of Tarzino should be full of fitness at his fourth run this time in.
