Race 7 No. 6 SMOKIN’ HOLLY – ($2.70)

SMOKIN’ HOLLY can go a couple of spots better than a last start effort that saw her place 3rd at the track and trip on April 28. The four-year-old worked hard in the early stages to lead that evening and went down in the shadows of the post behind Lloyd’s Crown. She went 0.5 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner in this race. The daughter of Exosphere sticks to this grade and will strip fitter. She is the one they need to catch. 

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN) 

Race 5 No 3  PLUS FOURS- ($5)

PLUS FOURS should find this easier than a last start effort that saw him battle into 12th placing at Flemington over the 1200m. That came in Saturday class and after copping some interference at the start he never really handled the straight. At his start prior to that, the three-year-old was a strong winner at Pakenham over the 1200m and this looks more like his class. The son of Cable Bay has attracted some early market support and will be ridden by Thomas Stockdale.
