BEST BET 🏆

Race 4:  No.2  BEPPE  ($2.60 with Picklebet)

The Team Edmonds-trained BEPPE is in great touch this preparation and looks well placed here to go on with it today. Last start, the Snitzel gelding ploughed through the Heavy 9 conditions and arrived in time to snatch victory in a BM66 Hcp over 1100m at Murwillumbah. Well supported that day ($4.50), he ran the trip out, half a length slower than benchmark, still the best last-start effort here by more than 2 lengths. He sees the Dalby track for the first time today but gets the gun-run from gate one and Bailey Wheeler is in charge for this assignment. Conditions look ideal for him today.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5:  No.5  BULL DIMPLE RUM  ($4.80 with bet365)

Neil Hocking saddles-up BULL DIMPLE RUM here who is third-up and should be ready to rock. Last start, the Bull Point gelding showed plenty of improvement when second-up, he beat all but one home in a BM0-58 Hcp over 1300m at Toowoomba. He came from back in the field that day to pass them all but Scenic Rim and set the fastest final 800m to 200 sectionals for the race in the process. Much fitter after two runs in, he draws well in gate six and with a trouble-free run today, he can give this contest a real shake.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.10  AMANECER  ($8 with BoomBet)

Gold Coast galloper AMANECER is third-up today and looks well placed here for back-to-back victories. Last start, the Dawn Approach filly was having just her second race start when she gave her opposition a galloping lesson by taking out a 1000m Maiden Hcp at Ballina. On a Heavy 8 that day, she crossed the line, 1.5 lengths ahead of the 10-strong field, running her last 600m, 3 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up. She steps up to the 1200m for the first time here and in well drawn in gate five. She maps to settle just behind the pace and with a clear run to the line, she could prove hard to hold out again at odds today.
